January 16th, 2010. Published under Austin Baby!, Press Releases, ZINGWater News. No Comments.

January 16th, 2010 – Austin, TX – Zing Holdings LLC, based in Austin, Texas, today announced their sponsorship of Well Aware, a non-profit created to bring clean water to impoverished areas in Africa. A portion of profits from the sale of ZINGWater, a caffeinated energy water, will support Well Aware’s current and future efforts.

Zing made its first contribution at a bon voyage party this Saturday to kick off Well Aware’s long awaited drilling trip to Kenya later this week. When they return, the team will have made clean drinking water available to more than 30,000 members of the Maasai tribe and their livestock for years to come.

Zing founders Loren Guerra and Dee Golden agreed to support a global clean water initiative when they created the company in 2009. Guerra explains, “Once we found Well Aware and met the team, it became very clear this was a good match. Given the business we are in, providing clean water is a natural, and supporting a local charity run by great people really sealed the deal.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ZINGWATER LAUNCH PARTY TO INTRODUCE CAFFEINATED ENERGY WATER IN AUSTIN

August 17th, 2009 – Austin, TX – Zing Holdings LLC, based in Austin, Texas, today announced the release of ZINGWater, a new caffeinated water beverage. On Saturday, August 29th, selected individuals will join together to celebrate its launch at an invitation only party.

Based on a rather simple concept, ZINGWater is 16.9 ounces of typical drinking water infused with 80 milligrams (about the same as a cup of coffee) of caffeine that doesn’t have the bitter taste one might associate with traditional caffeine additives. ZING CEO, Loren Guerra explains, “Our caffeine is odorless, colorless and tasteless. That’s what gives this product so much potential.” Indeed, most consumers are familiar with the overbearing flavor energy drinks possess due to the sweeteners and other additives used to mask the naturally bitter flavor of caffeine.

Austin may prove to be a good market for such a product being one of the healthiest and fitness oriented cities in the country. The ability to get hydration and energy in the same drink is something many are likely to embrace. Mr. Guerra elaborates, “With zero calories and zero carbs we really think it’s a home run with fitness enthusiasts and those conscious about what they consume. But it also appeals to virtually anyone who drinks water but gets their caffeine from coffee, tea, sodas or other sources.”

Very few predicted the now multi-billion dollar energy market 10 years ago, and Mr. Guerra seems convinced he’s onto something just as big. “We are creating a new market called ‘energy water’. In just a few years time you’ll be able to buy our product and others anywhere in the country and abroad.” Right now, the company says it is working with 275 convenience stores and meeting with HEB, the largest grocer in Austin.

Is ZINGWater the next energy drink phenomenon? Only time will tell, but a visit down to Central Texas in 6 months might offer a sign of the future.
